The Challenge
Internal communication relied heavily on email and established working practices that made it difficult to coordinate activity consistently across departments.

With multiple teams managing projects, campaigns and day-to-day operations, information could become fragmented across conversations, creating unnecessary complexity and making collaboration less efficient.

The challenge was to introduce a more connected communication platform while establishing clear processes, supporting adoption and helping teams transition away from existing habits.
Approach
01
Platform Rollout & Adoption
Led the organisation-wide implementation of Slack, coordinating the transition and supporting adoption across departments.
Worked with teams to introduce the platform into their daily workflows, establishing Slack as a primary communication channel and creating a more accessible environment for collaboration.
02
Workflow & Governance
Developed channel structures, naming conventions, user groups and communication guidelines to improve consistency and make information easier to organise and find.

Established practical standards for team discussions, cross-department coordination and ongoing platform management, reducing reliance on scattered email conversations.
03
Training & Enablement
Delivered training and guidance to managers and team leads, covering channels, canvases, integrations and collaboration best practices.

Supported teams as they adapted their communication habits, encouraging consistent adoption and more effective use of the platform across everyday activities and shared initiatives.
Results & Impact
The rollout established Slack as a primary communication platform, making it easier for teams to share information, coordinate activities and collaborate across departments. Clearer channel structures and governance brought greater consistency to everyday communication.

Internal email volume decreased by approximately 30% as teams shifted towards more accessible, real-time communication. Combined with training and ongoing adoption support, these improvements created a more connected working environment and a stronger foundation for efficient cross-department collaboration.
